gold guide
qualities of gold
Gold is distinctive and enhances any wearer. It's also extremely malleable -- gold can be stretched, bent, twisted, hammered and milled to create a wide array of jewelry shapes,
designs and textures without losing its flexibility. Unlike other metals,
gold does not tarnish, rust or corrode because it is chemically
inactive. Its unique beauty lasts and lasts.
Pure gold is actually too soft to be used on its own for
everyday jewelry. That's why it's alloyed, or mixed,
with other metals to make it stronger and more
durable for daily wear. When gold is mixed with
other metals, there may not be any visible difference
in appearance. This also makes it difficult for the
naked eye to determine if an item is actually gold, or
how much gold it contains.
